Eagle River Preserve:  Open space for all of us

How You Can Help

Right before our eyes are 72 acres of Vail Valley heartland that has a commercial past but pristine future. Before us is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come together as a community by raising $12 million to preserve this parcel historically known as the Eaton Ranch, located along the Eagle River and in the center of the rapidly developing Edwards community.

A river runs through our county and how often do we truly call it our own?

We are a more enriched community when we preserve accessible open space lands in the core of our residential and commercial areas. Eagle River Preserve provides this opportunity. The parcel will be owned by the people of Eagle County and ruled by the deer, elk, fox and occasional bear. To ensure its green future, clear, strong and legally enforceable provisions will run with the land. They will be written so that the land will remain open space – permanently . A limited number of passive improvements to the property are being considered, including nature trails; walking and biking paths; ponds and fishing areas; as well as shelters and facilities that are ADA-friendly

The time for action is now. Join us in saving a part of our past and planting a seed for our future.
